Business is Finished! - Keileagh
And just like that, my leaving cert is over. Today I sat higher level business, my 10th and final exam.
I’ve always loved business, the course is theory heavy but very applicable to real life. I felt very well prepared, my teacher Ms Barry had ensured there was no past paper we hadn’t completed. However, when I first opened the paper and skimmed through the short questions, I began to panic. I was analysing the “ad hoc meeting” question convinced of a spelling error. I felt that these questions were quite different to prior years, but as I settled into the paper I found them very manageable.
The dreaded ABQ on units 3,4 and 5 followed in a similar light. The theory required differed greatly to that of the mock and past papers, and I had never seen the outcome verb “recommend” in prior years. However, once I gathered my thoughts I found it nice as I had actually preferred these areas of content.
The long questions ended up being many students saving grace. I decided to answer on people in business, international environment and enterprise. These questions were almost identical to the past papers and very straightforward. I ended up leaving the exam very confident, it was a great way to end the stressful exam period.
Overall, interesting but equally fair paper from the SEC. Roll on summer!
