Student Council Resources
ISSU has designed a three-part training series to help student councillors get up and running. This training has been designed so that any teacher or Student Council Chair can pick up these materials and teach the content comfortably.
While this series has been designed to be delivered in three parts, teachers are invited to review all the materials and decide on what content best suits Student Councillors and the level they are at.
Lesson 1 covers the basics, including what a Student Council is and how to set one up.
Lesson 2 introduces practical skills for holding effective meetings, and how to keep the council organised throughout the year.
Finally, Lesson 3 looks at how to make change happen. Including how to identify people who can help with student issues and how to engage them effectively.
